2020 Summer Leader Info

We can't wait to see you!

We are excited to see you in just a few short weeks and continue to pray with great expectation for summer 2020. 
 
Though things might look a little different this year, we are working hard to provide you with the same amazing SpringHill summer leader experience. Please know that the situation remains fluid, so we will be sending you regular text messages and emails to update you on the current status of summer. 
 
Below you will find updated and important information including an operational guide that walks you through pre-arrival, arrival, time off, and more. Please look over everything carefully. If you have any questions, send us a text at 833.664.0563 or an email at work@springhillexperiences.com.

Camp Start Dates

Below are the current camp start dates. Please note that these may change.
 
Day Camps: July 6
Indiana Overnight: July 5 
Michigan Overnight: July 5 
 
 

Training Details

This year we are launching online training! We are currently developing all of our training sessions and will be launching training via Lessonly on June 1 for Indiana, and June 8 for Michigan and Day Camps.
 
We will send an email at that time with login information and all of the info you need to be successful in training! 
 
Some training will still be done in person. Below are the dates and locations for in person arrival. 

Day Camps

  • Virtual Site Coordinator, Assistant Site Coordinator, and Administrator training: June 22-24 
  • In-person High Adventure Area Director training: Saturday, June 27 10:30AM-6:00PM and Sunday, June 28 8:30AM-4:30PM. Location TBD
  • Media Director Zoom Training: June 29, 12:30PM-5:00PM
  • Virtual Area Director Training begins Tuesday, June 30
  • Virtual All Day Camp Staff Training Session (Assistant Directors, Area Directors, Inclusion Counselor, Media Directors, Counselors): Tuesday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 1 at 7PM EST
  • In-person All Day Camp Staff Training begins at your first church location on Friday, July 3 - Sunday, July 5

  • All other Summer Leaders (counselors, TST Crew Chiefs, inclusion, crafts, customer service, photographers, production): Tuesday, June 30, 4:00PM

Human Resources Checklist

If you have not completed your paperwork, please log back in to your application.
 
Paperwork includes:
  • Federal Tax Form
  • State Tax Form
  • Background Check
  • Emergency Contact Form
  • Direct Deposit Form
  • Health Form
  • Central Registry
  • Photo (head and shoulders only) submitted to IDphotos@springhillexperiences.com 
You will need two forms of identification from the list below upon arrival. The identification must be the original and NOT photocopied. If you do not bring the following items with you to training, you will not be able to work and must return home to bring them back. 
 
You either need your passport or an item from both groups 2 and 3. 
1. Passport
OR
2. Valid driver's license/school ID with photograph/state ID card 
AND
3. Social security card/birth certificate
 
At least one piece of identification must have a photograph. 
 

Packing List

Overnight

Throughout the summer, you will be moving to different housing units. We have found that plastic drawers are the easiest way to transport belongings when it comes time to move. 

 

Suggested Packing List:

  • Bible
  • Notebook and pens
  • Toiletries 
  • Clothes that can get dirty
  • Laundry detergent, coins, laundry bag
  • Flashlight
  • Sunglasses
  • Watch
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect Repellent 
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sheets, pillow, blanket
  • Sleeping bag
  • Towel
  • 5 t-shirts and pairs of shorts 
  • 10 pairs of underwear
  • 10 pairs of socks
  • 2-3 bathing suits (modest one piece only)
  • 1-2 pairs of jeans
  • 1-2 sweatshirts or jackets
  • Plan white t-shirt
  • Rain jacket
  • Athletic shoes
  • Sandals with a back strap (no flip flops)
  • Tank tops (no spaghetti straps)
  • Tie-dye clothes (for tie-dye Tuesday)
  • Wacky clothing (for wacky Wednesday)
  • 2 reusable cloth masks 

 

We recommend that you pack at least two weeks worth of clothes. Days can be hot and humid, while nights may be cooler. Remember that you might not be returning home once you arrive. You will be able to receive packages if you forget something.

  • Tank tops (no spaghetti straps)
  • Sports dress up clothes - jerseys, sweatbands, etc. 
  • 2 reusable cloth masks
  • Do NOT bring peanuts or peanut products
  • NOTE: Swimsuits will not be needed at day camp this year, but you may want to bring one for other time off activities.
