Our Projects

Why we're never done building the SpringHill community

At SpringHill, one of our core values is "Holy discontent" - a mandate to never stop growing as an organization and community until every kid knows God's love. The projects below are ways we are working toward that goal, whether by keeping our facilities safe and updated, creating new opportunities to grow, or casting a vision for our future.

Indiana Overnight Projects

Health Hub

Your gift will help construct a new two-story building that provides a base for our doctor and medical staff and helps to provide the best care possible for guests.

By helping build the health hub, you will provide the best experience for kids, counselors, and staff when they need care.

The total cost of this project is $540,000.

Go Karts

Help us provide a fun way for kids and families to spend time together by taking a few thundering laps around around a new go kart track.

This activity helps kids focus and improve their basic motor skills, and is an exciting new activity for us to bring to our summer experiences.

The total cost of this project is $350,000.

New Water Activities

Our Indiana property is built around a lake, which means providing new water activities is always a big win.

Help us provide more options for kids on Rust Lake - whether that's a water slide or a floating water park.

Michigan Overnight Projects

Restroom Facilities

Better facilities help create better experiences for kids.

The benefits of this project center around health and hygiene, increased capacity, and the quality of the overall SpringHill experience.

Facility updates include:

  • Winterization for two existing facilities
  • 16 additional showers
  • Tornado storm shelters in two locations
  • New facility to include: 16 showers, toiles, and more changing areas

The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation has made a matching gift of $370,000. Designated gifts toward the project will be matched dollar for dollar.

The total cost of the project is $285,000.

Cabin Renovations

This project will upgrade aging units to help enhance the overall experience, provide more capacity, and build better community spaces.

Your contribution to this project will help reduce the number of kids on our waiting list, and provide intentional spaces for kids to have discussion and small groups.

The total cost of this project is $150,000.

Day Camp Projects

New Obstacle Courses

We introduced obstacle courses to a couple of day camp teams and it's quickly become a favorite among our day camp attendees.

Help us add eight more inflatable obstacle courses to our day camp inventory so that we can bring this activity to more kids in more communities.

The total cost of this project is $21,000.

Media Director Equipment

SpringHill experiences wouldn't be complete without silly songs, music, skits, and dance parties! Our current media equipment is in need of upgrades so that we can continue to provide quality programming and high energy SpringHill experiences wherever we travel.

New equipment needs include:

  • Projectors
  • Cameras
  • Computers and software for editing photos and video

The total cost of this project is $10,000.

Indoor High Adventure Structures

We are looking to pilot a new indoor high adventure structure that would change our reliance on facilities, state licensing, and more, while providing new activities year after year.

Indoor high adventure structures will:

  • Allow for easier transport, setup, and tear down
  • Help us be self reliant so we can operate independently
  • Meet facilities and state licensing regulations
  • Create new activities and experiences every year with the same equipment

The total cost of this project is $30,000.

Storage Systems

In order to improve efficiency and better steward our resources, we moved our Day Camps inventory to a new centralized warehouse. We have already seen the benefits of having a space dedicated to our needs. Equipping our warehouse space with shelving is an important step toward utilizing our space well, aligning our Day Camps ministry for further growth, and organizing all equipment for easy storage and access.

The total cost of this project is $4,000.

Sensory Room Additions

Sensory rooms were launched at Day Camp in 2017 and have become an important part of our inclusion program. These rooms are designed with special lighting, music, and objects, and creates a quiet space for kids to get alone time and unwind.

Sensory room additions include:

  • Weighted snake
  • Patchwork mat
  • Bean bag chair
  • Building blocks
  • Puzzle floor mat
  • Fidget toys
  • Digital timers
  • Water box
  • Bean box
  • Play-Doh
  • Play tunnel

The total cost of this project is $10,000.
